WW1 Imperial German (Jawless Lion Head) Artillery Officer’s Sword 1915 Dated and was itself re-named theThis is one variation of the Lion head sword called the Jawless" or "Half lion head" where the lion has no lower jaw. Brass D guard hilt stamped with inspection marks on the backstrap and cross guard. The handle is wrapped in ray skin (some missing from use) and has a double twisted wire wrap. This piece is decorated with floral designs and crossed cannons on the langet. The nickel plated blade is slightly curved and thick. Date 1915 with inspection
